Efforts

Here is a list of some of the efforts taking place around here and around the country for Lucy!

Many have donated and please continue to donate on Indiegogo.com (click on the link)  http://www.indiegogo.com/earsforlucy?c=home&a=817553

You can also donate right here on the blog - just to the right using our Chip-in button!

August 10th - Open House featuring: Scentsy, Thirty One, Premier (rumored to have homemade candy to sell...yum-o)  All three ladies are donating their profits to Lucy's cause!

August 25th - "Be A H'ear'o - Ride For Lucy" motorcycle ride to benefit Lucy (lunch included and door prizes!)

A friend sent me her ever-so-slightly-used Nook Color and a Kindle Fire and we sold them and made $225 towards Lucy's surgery!  Awesome!

Yard sale - please donate any items!!

We are working on making T-shirts to sell!  (stay tuned - they are going to be adorable!)

A friend is having an "in-home" Scentsy party and donating all the proceeds to Lucy (different than the open house listed above)

Another friend is selling off some of her things and sending Lucy the money she raises!

My California friend (who we will be staying with while in CA for surgery) will be celebrating her 50th birthday while we are out there for surgery....she has asked all her friends in lieu of presents that they donate money to Lucy!

And most recent....like today...I was contacted by another amazing friend who is going to hold a "shopping party" in her home in the fall and will send all proceeds to Lucy!  (She does this every year and donates money to a charity!)

We are so blessed and amazed by the outpouring of love for our girl!  This is all life changing for our Lucy!

As I've mentioned before....one surgery at a time.  One surgery at a time.  One surgery at a time!

Love to all of you!!!  If you were here....I'd kiss you!!!

I can do it!

Lucy whipped out her own "cutlery" from the playroom to cut her wienies!!

What a big girl!  Lucy has become an extremely independent little girl!  (and no, I did not let her cut it up all by herself.  Momma stepped in with the real knife and cut it up....small pieces....mommy's paranoid!)

today

Today I just needed a sign.  I prayed specifically this morning that God would in fact show us a HUGE sign that we were headed in the right direction.  His direction.  I even told God that I knew He didn't need to "show" me and that I needed to trust Him....but I asked anyway.  I told Him...I just really need this!

Well, as always He delivers!  We are really anxious about all the monies that will be due very soon and how on earth this is all going to come together.  Again, He is faithful!

We received an amazing donation on Lucy's Indiegogo.com campaign.  We are blown away by amazing people that God has used in our lives.

We've been contacted by a few friends that are holding fundraisers for Lucy!  And many friends that are relentless about "sharing" Lucy's story with others!

Simply blown away.

Sign received.

So, today is a good day.  A day that assures us that we indeed are continuing down the right path.  God's path.

Please continue to share Lucy's story!  I've been contacted by some people that were born like Lucy and had surgeries!  They are following along and "watching" from their own sofas as Lucy's journey unfolds.

So if you haven't already, please click on the link below and help us make our dream for Lucy a reality.

the countdown

85 days until surgery.  Breathe.  To be honest that thought thrills me and makes me nauseous at the same time.

What an opportunity for my baby girl to have ears.  Such an odd statement.  Never thought about ears as much as I have over the past months.

We've asked our other 3 kids if they were born like Lucy, would they want surgery to give them ears?  And before we could get the words out...."YES".  Without hesitation.  I know I would.

We have started an awesome fundraising opportunity!  It's through Indiegogo.com!!!

Please take a moment and visit our campaign for Lucy!  Please please please share her campaign!!  We need lots of activity.  The more visits, likes, donations, the better our chances of getting Lucy's campaign on the front page of the website!!

I know God has big things planned for our girl!  I can't wait to see what God's got up His sleeve!

I am so prepared to be blown away by His goodness!  In His time, by His goodness, because He is faithful!!!

Just click on this link to check it out!  And please spread the word!

the lowdown...

Shew!  I finally got the lowdown on our insurance benefits coverage!

I truly hope I can explain it properly on here!  Just think...if we were able to talk in person...I could ramble on and on and you still probably wouldn't get the jest of what I was trying to say!  So, you will just have to imagine my rambling through this post!!!  Aw, now I know you'd much rather be able to hear my lovely voice drone on....but this will have to do for now!

This is estimated since they won't know for sure until the doctor is operating and doing his thang...to see exactly what he will need to do on Lucy.

With the surgeon's fee, hospital expenses, anesthesiologist, etc. our maximum out of pocket should be $22,750.  Now, let me just say that's a tough pill to swallow.  HOWEVER, it could have been in excess of $45,000 to $50,000.  So, I'm almost thrilled with $22,750!!!  (again, this is all yet to be finalized...until surgery is completed and insurance is billed.)

We do KNOW that we have to have $11,000 deposit by the beginning of September and let's not forget travel expenses!  Woo whoo!

This surgery has to be paid in full before we can even speculate at the CAM surgery.  And let's not forget that that surgery has to be paid up front.  (gulp)  So, let's just focus on this first surgery for now.  I can only handle one at a time!

To recap:  $22,750 + travel expenses = $25,000 needed.

Please please please join us in praying for God to provide for all of Lucy's needs.  This is the only way that we can make this happen for her.  With God, Through God and Only God!

Please spread the word!  We will be doing some major fundraising!  We need all the help and prayers we can get!!

Nerves....

still don't know anything about surgery...it's about to make me crazy!
