ear update

Here's the ear!  Looking a lot less rough!

I can't say we are out of the woods yet but it is looking relatively good.

I don't think the doctor is overly pleased with the "prettiness" of the ear...but as he said "right now, we're just trying to save it"....overall, I think it's pretty good!

Please continue the prayers!  I know God is about sick of hearing about these blessed ears!  Thanks guys, we truly appreciate them!

I'll keep you posted as we progress!

fyi-I didn't post last weeks ear pictures....a little too rough....I thought about posting them...but, um, no.  Too rough.

had a birthday in the house yesterday

My Keegan turned 9 years old yesterday.

Where did all that time go?

And when did she become so grown up looking??

So pretty.

Keegan's American Girl Doll received an outfit for Keegan's birthday!

Little booger girl had to get in lots of pictures!

And sweet Keegan let her little baby sister help her open her presents.  Sweet.

Lucy would hug Keegan and yell at Adam to take a picture!

She was a scream!

Happy birthday my sweet Keegan!

God sure blessed me when He gave me you!!!

a few pictures from the trip

Just wanted to share a few fun pictures from our most recent trip to LA.

Madge checking out the view.....

I love my flight attendant's hair!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

 Some views...........

Lucy was needing a closer look....had to crawl over on top of Aunt DeDe!

Surgery morning!  Looking cute as always!

Waiting out turn at the surgery center!

Lucy was starting to feel the "happy juice" in the next few pictures....sorry the pictures aren't that great...using my phone.

Back at the hotel...having a little sip!

Lucy is very happy to be home again!  She is basically back to normal!  Unfortunately, all this has become normal to her.  But prayfully, this will all be over soon!

I'll have pictures of the right ear tomorrow!  Thanks again for all the prayers!

I missed my little family, my cats and my bed!!!

Thank you for all the prayers!  Lucy is doing great...as always.  We will remove the blue mold on Friday and see what's underneath!

I'll see if I can't scrounge up some pictures today!

Surgery 6

Praising God that surgery #6 is behind us....Lucy had another surgery yesterday.  They had to replace the right ear implant again.

We continue to pray that this is the last surgery required for her precious 2 new ears!

She is doing really well...as usual!

We will be in LA a couple more days and then head home on Monday afternoon!

Please continue to keep my youngen' in your prayers!

an update on the sickness

Can I just say...it's been a lllloooonnnngggg week and we just reached the halfway point....today...Wednesday!

I took Keegan and Romy to the doctor yesterday.  Keegan has been having all kinds of allergy/sinus issues and it seemed to me like she probably had a sinus infection (this from the queen of sinus infections).  Romy has been steadily getting better but her cough sounded wheezey.

So back to the doctor we go!  I told the people at the office that we loved seeing them so much that I have the kids go around licking public door knobs.  PLEASE KNOW THAT IS NOT TRUE!  (but it feels like it sometimes)

Yeppers, Keegan has a sinus infection and Romy's viral thing has settled into pneumonia in one of her lungs.  Woo whoo!  Meds all around, please!

Did I mention that we leave TOMORROW for California for Lucy's surgery on Friday.  Yep.  That's right.  Tomorrow.

"Am I packed", you asked?  Um, no.  But laundry is done so shortly after lunch I will most certainly pack!

As always, I covet your prayers.  I always hate leaving the 3 big kids at home but this time it's worse since 2 of them are sick.  Please pray for healing for the sick ones, safe travels for us travelers and an amazing last surgery for Lucy!  (praying it's the last!)  Oh, and last but certainly not least...pray for those at home taking care of my kids!

Thanks guys!  I'll keep you posted!

a first

Well yesterday marked a first for me in the role of parenting.  Fever of 104.8.  Dang.

Romy is doing well...but obviously sick!   No real symptoms other than fever.  After a panicky trip to the pediatrician...it was determined that she has shared some funk and is now the proud owner of some viral germs!

If y'all don't mind, please say a prayer for Romy...and that none of us get it!  We have a surgery in just a few days.....and if you don't mind....say a prayer for Lucy, her doctors and safe travels!

3 cultures

We've had three different cultures done on the drainage from Lucy's right ear...and praise God...none of them have shown anything really yucky!  Thank you Jesus!

Lucy continues to be her normal precious self.  She does not seem to be bothered by her ear...she is such a little trooper!  Praise God she takes in all in stride!  So grateful she's a happy child.....all. the. time!

We are fundraising again...as always.  My sweet Beverly is back at her brittle making for Lucy Lu.  If you would like to purchase a bag, it's $10 for a 1 lb bag of plain....and $15 for a 1 lb bag of chocolate drizzled (milk, dark or white chocolate)...it's ridiculous good!!!

If you aren't local, you can still order!!!  We just ask that you pay for shipping!  It's SO STINKIN' GOOD!!!

The kiddos are on fall break starting in about 25 minutes!  We have all kinds of fun planned for the next few days!  Weinee roast/smores fire pit night...complete with sparklers, maybe the $1 movies...which I think are now $2 movies....and it's my birthday this weekend so the kids are SO excited!  Should have some good photos in the next few days so stick around.....

I pray everyone is enjoying the beginnings of fall....I know I am!

Please continue to pray for my Lucy, her surgeons and our finances as the surgery is just days away!

Thanks as always!!  Much love!
