We have a few remaining items from the Open House....handcrafted items!

Let me tell you these items are beautiful!  I want every. single. one. of. them.  But that sorta defeats the purpose of fundraising now doesn't it?

Anyhow, I wanted to share them with you guys....let me know if you are interested in purchasing any of these items!!!  These items were made especially for the Lucy Sale!  All monies go directly to help Lucy get her right ear!!!  So start shopping!!!

"I Love You All The Way To The Moon And Back"
This has special meaning to me....Keegan and I say this to each other all the time!

"I heart you because"
This is so cool!  I have 4 of these for my kids.  You leave the print framed, use a dry erase marker and write directly on the glass....I have their name at the top and why I love them on the line....it changed every few days.  They love looking to see if I've changed their message!  It's quite fun!
(digital print, mat and frame...$20.00)

"Pumpkins, Apples, Hayrides"
I love this.  Couldn't you see this either on your wall in the fall....OR with a big plaid bow hanging on your front door!  Oh, I could!
 (Canvas art $25.00)

"Count Your Blessings...name them one by one"
Oh, another favorite!

(Canvas art, $25.00)

Sweet Dreams pillow case - standard size $7.00.

Pillowbox Owls.
Dang these boogers are adorable!  Use them to give a gift card in, fill with candy, fill with jewelry, cash is always nice in any box but how cute to give it in a precious little owl!!

(have a bunch of these little guys...not just the 2 shown here)

Handcrafted note cards/thank you cards

take a look

Let me tell you...this is MUCH improved!  I wouldn't post the pictures from Monday.  Ew.

But I am relatively pleased with the way it's progressing!  Praise You Jesus!

I sent the pictures to Dr. R. and his response was "looks good, healing as expected".  Shew!!

I had a couple of questions via emails and texts so he just called me.  Of course, all he is seeing are the pictures but he said it appears that the skin graft did not take.  But the membrane/flap part is looking good and the skin should heal over it.

We would truly appreciate your continued prayers for Lucy and that precious ear!

Sorry if the pictures gross you out....but I wanted to let you know how things were going!

Thanks guys!

the ear

is looking better.......Praise God!

I'll have pictures tomorrow.   I'll show you those!

the ear

Well, the mold came off yesterday.  I'll be honest.  I was a nervous wreck.  Worse than any time before.

I'm not sure what to say.  The ear looks.....the ear looks...well, the ear looks.....I don't know.

It's pretty rough looking right now.  Different than before.  I'm unsure.

I hate to be so vague.  But I truly don't know what to say.

I'll be honest...again.  Sometimes this journey is tough.  I know that years from now this will all seem like such a minor hiccup in Lucy's life.  But right now.  Today.  It feels hard.

We will continue to pray that it heals wonderfully!  She is such an amazing little girl.  She is my inspiration!

So today we will be excited about the healing that will take place over the next few weeks and be ever mindful of all the blessings that God has given us!!

New to the blog?

Allow me to catch you up!

Lucy is our adopted daughter from China!  She's been home about a year and a half.  Lucy was born with Bilateral Microtia and Atresia.  Basically no inner or outer ears, no ear canals, no ear drums.  After Lucy arrived home in September of 2011 she was fitted with a BAHA (bone anchored hearing aide).  Lucy heard for the first time September 19, 2011.

We were blessed to be able to meet with and be blessed with the talents of one Dr. John Reinisch in California!  (check out this video...this was the surgery that Lucy had!)  This man is simply amazing!  Take a couple of minutes to watch this video!  It's mind blowing!

Here are a few pictures of my Lucy!

This is the first picture we ever saw of our Lucy.

Here is a picture of what Lucy used to have for a left ear.

Surgery morning....last September!
(her BAHA is the little black box on the pink strap)

Two weeks later!!!  The unveiling of the new ear!!

This past December!!  Lucy loves her new ear!!!

Lucy's right side.  She is scheduled for surgery to receive her right ear May 23!!!

The Farley family!!  This was taken just a few days before Lucy's left ear surgery!

Lucy has had a couple of issues with her new left ear....she's had 2 "fix" surgeries on her left ear.  One was just last week so her left ear is currently covered by a mold.  We will remove the mold on Monday and have new pictures to show off!!!

As always we appreciate all the prayers for our youngen!

I hope this post helps all the new Lucy followers feel like they are in the loop!!

Lucy is the most precious little girl....certainly the bravest little girl I've ever known!  And I'm so thankful to be her Mommy!

Lucy...the past 24 hours...or so

My baby girl before surgery yesterday morning!  Dang those yellow jammies are too cute!

Sweet Lucy still trying to come out of the anesthesia.

On the way back to the hotel after surgery.  This picture was taken just before the puking started.  She was pitiful.  Broke my heart.  It was just from the motion of the car....I'm sure.  After arriving back at the hotel she never threw up anymore.

Lucy Lu hanging on to her Aunt DeDe.  I do believe Aunt DeDe was loving every minute of it.

Before long Lucy was sipping on some Sprite and ate a couple of crackers.  Before bed she asked for a banana and ate the whole thing!  My girl loves her some bananas!

This morning she woke up to her ole self!  She slept great and woke with just as happy as always!

Back on mommy's computer...so things are indeed back to normal!

At our little hotel they have boiled eggs available at breakfast and she LOVES to peel them herself.

She managed to put away 2 eggs and some orange juice!

After breakfast we headed out for some sightseeing (see next post) and then headed to see Dr. Reinisch!

Can I tell you how much she loves this man?  She asked for him all morning.  And once we arrived at his office she kept asking where he was.  She saw Francesca (Dr. R's PA) and Francesca took her to see Dr. R.  When Lucy saw him, she ran down the hall and he scooped her up and threw her up in the air....they hugged.  Oh my heart.  This man is so precious to Lucy and our family.  What a gift he is!

Sorry I didn't get a better picture of Lucy with her Dr. Reinisch!  Next time!

My baby girl!  As Lucy says "bright sun, bright sun"!!!

Thanks for all the prayers!  Please keep them coming!

We head home in the morning and arrive in Louisville around 5pm.  So we should be home by 7pm or so!  I'll keep you posted!

So for now....I'm signing out from LA.  Next post from home!  Can't wait to see my husband and other kiddos!

Love to all!

Out and about

Lucy slept great last night!  She did not move which meant I slept great last night!

It's amazing how good you feel after a good night's sleep!  Thank you Jesus!

So after we met with Dr. Reinisch we headed out for some sight-seeing.

This is the Griffith Observatory.  You get a great view of the "Hollywood" sign from up here!

Los Angeles in the background!  The views were amazing!!!

Then we headed to Santa Monica for lunch and more sight-seeing!

They have some large leafy wildlife out here!

And of course, Madge had to have her picture taken by the ocean!  That Madge gets around!  Love her!

Over all Lucy had a great day!  She is back to normal!!  My girl is truly inspiring.  She is so precious!

Thank you guys for all your prayers for Lucy and the family!  We truly covet every single one of them!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we head home tomorrow and continued prayers of healing!

(next post is the doctor/ear post!)
