Out and about

Lucy slept great last night!  She did not move which meant I slept great last night! 

It's amazing how good you feel after a good night's sleep!  Thank you Jesus!

So after we met with Dr. Reinisch we headed out for some sight-seeing. 

This is the Griffith Observatory.  You get a great view of the "Hollywood" sign from up here!

Los Angeles in the background!  The views were amazing!!!

Then we headed to Santa Monica for lunch and more sight-seeing!

They have some large leafy wildlife out here!

And of course, Madge had to have her picture taken by the ocean!  That Madge gets around!  Love her!

Over all Lucy had a great day!  She is back to normal!!  My girl is truly inspiring.  She is so precious!

Thank you guys for all your prayers for Lucy and the family!  We truly covet every single one of them!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we head home tomorrow and continued prayers of healing!

Pitiful

Lucy took quite a while to wake up after surgery.  So she got herself a good snooze!

Dr. Reinisch patched the ear again.  He made a bigger flap....(Cherri, they said it was a HARDY flap!) they really don't have any idea what happened this time.  In the grand scheme of things....the reason why isn't relavent.  Now, the job at hand is some good healing. 

She had a hard time on the way back to the hotel.  All fluids that she had kept down.....well, they didn't stay down.  She was so pitiful and upset. 

She is having some bleeding from the site.  Nothing horrible....appears to be drainage.

She is resting in bed now.  Sipping on some Sprite. 

We will work up to some crackers later on. 

But for now.....it's Little Einsteins or whatever she wants!!!

Please continue to keep Lucy in your prayers!  She has a post-op appointment tomorrow with Dr. R and then we head home Saturday. 

Dr. Reinisch has appointed DeAnne (who is traveling with me) to be Lucy's medical person.  In ten days DeAnne will remove the stitches and the mold from Lucy's ear. 

We will get to wash her hair and the ear....send pictures to Dr. Reinisch and wait for further instructions!

So now, this momma is getting off the computer and tending to some Lucy needs!

Update #1

Mike called me and said "She is doing great and they are closing!"  Woo whoo!

I don't know anything else right now.  But as soon as I learn more and am able to post...I will!

Thank you for all the prayers....keep pray for healing and no additional problems with that precious ear!

And so it begins....

My little youngen is in surgery again.

We arrived at the surgery center early this morning and got her registered.   A while later they came to get us and we went back and got Lucy all changed....she looks so cute in her yellow hospital jammies! (picture to come)

The sweet anesthesiologist carried Lucy back to the OR and I was escorted out.

I know she is in good hands.  I love all the doctors and nurses here.  But most of all, I know God is watching over her right now.

They just called me (they update me via my cell phone every 90 mins) too let me know that she is sleeping nicely, all the lines were in and they were getting started on the "procedure".

Safe, sound and the plan

Praise the good Lord above!  We had good flights and arrived in LA safe and sound!

After landing we collected our luggage, hopped on a bus to get the rental car, and then checked into the hotel!

We grabbed a bite to eat and then went on to see Dr. Reinisch.

The consensus is that they won't know anything about the area until they are in there checking out the ear!!!  They truly don't know what has caused this to happen.  I am hoping for answers after surgery is over tomorrow!

Surgery will be early tomorrow morning...(late morning for the folks at home)  I will be updating the blog as I receive updates for the doctor/nurse.

We greatly appreciate all the prayers!  Please keep them coming!!

Gotta go bathe a little girl and get our buh-who-dee's in the bed!  Love to all of you!

Heading back out

We leave in the morning.  I'll be honest I haven't been all that "gung-ho" about this trip.

God never said it would be easy.  But He did say that He would be with us all the way.  I lean on that.  Every. Single. Day.

I am excited to get Lucy's ear fixed.  I don't know exactly what has happened but I have a theory.  It appears that the "fix" from last time is failing.  Unsure as to how all that works but I'm pretty sure the membrane under the skin died/is dying and the skin is sloughing off. 

So please continue to keep Lucy and us in your prayers.  We need every single one of them!  I'll keep you posted as I have news.

We meet with the surgeon tomorrow after we arrive in LA and then surgery is early Thursday morning.  I am anxious for him to see Lucy!!!

This week...

So my precious baby girl and I fly out Wednesday.  Surgery is Thursday and home Saturday! 

I have to admit.  Not looking forward to this trip.  I know that's probably a bad thing to say but I just hate that she has to have another surgery. 

Please pray that this surgery fixes the problem and she requires no more surgeries on her left ear!  I would truly appreciate it!

I will be updating, of course, throughout surgery so stay tuned.

I do know she is excited about riding on the "big jet" again!  Gotta look on the bright side!
