We leave 3 weeks from today to get my baby girl a right ear.  Precious angel.

Sun in your eyes?

Another amazing friend is doing a fundraiser for Lucy. 

Her smart husband was tired of not being able to use their deck in their backyard due to the sun beaming down during the 4pm to 7pm...prime dinner time!!

They searched for some type of deck/umbrella contraption.  Nothin.  They couldn't find anything that they were looking for!

So, he made it himself!

Hatfield or McCoy?

I had the privilege this week of meeting Benita McCoy Lyons.  She is a local caterer/chef.  Can I just say...she is awesome!

 

She is so much fun and from what I understand she is quite the chef/caterer! 

 

She has written a few cookbooks!  Very cool!

 

She is so precious.  She donated 6 of her cookbooks for me to sell and use the proceeds towards Lucy's surgery!  Ok.  That's just crazy.

 

Did I mention she is a direct descendant from the McCoy's???  Yes.  THE McCoy's!  And did I mention that I am a descendant from the Hatfield's?  Yes.  THE Hatfield's!  Too fun!

These snazzy cookbooks retail at $24.95.  She is allowing me to sell them for whatever I want! 

 

We are so blessed by so many!  God has put some of the most precious people in our path!  People that are changing Lucy's life.

Tickets...check

Today we bit the bullet and booked the tickets!  I was SO hoping that they would have a sale. 

I've been monitoring, hovering, stalking Southwest's website....no sales for me.  The airfares just keep going up so I thought I'd better jump on them before they went any higher!

Even though it was pricey...I'm glad to have that task checked off the list of things "to-do"...

We leave in less than 4 weeks.  I really can't wait.  I'm getting a little excited and yet when I think about Lucy and her surgery I get a little sad.  I know.  Crazy.  I am so blessed to be on this journey with Lucy.....an obvious journey of faith to ears for my child.  This past year has done a number on me.  It's been a roller-coaster of a year!  I've stressed more than I've ever stressed.  I've prayed probably more this year than I've ever prayed before. 

We continue to pray that God will continue to bless of this entire process for Lucy in ways that only He can.

If you are prayin' people, can I please ask you to pray for some specific needs?

Safety
Good health/no sickness
Great healing
Wisdom for the surgeon/staff

Ride for Lucy: It Takes 2

It's getting close!!  Ride for Lucy: It Takes 2.....motorcycle/bicycle ride!  We had a blast last fall at the first ride!  So many amazing people turned out to help us raise money for Lucy! 

If you are local...or even semi local...come out and join the fun!  May 11th!  We will be starting and ending the rides at Masterson Station Park...off Leestown Road. 

After the ride, all riders will return to the park for an ole fashioned hamburger hotdog cookout!  (food included with your registration fee)

Southwest

We absolutely love flying Southwest Airlines!  They are awesome!  They make flying fun!  Inevitably they have us cracking up and truly enjoying our flying experience!  I recommend them highly!   

I continue to check their website multiple times everyday...monitoring the flight costs!  We need a sale!  We got in on a deal last fall and we need another great deal now!  Y'all say a prayer that God opens a door and works in ways that only He can.....thanks!

Gonna be on one of these pretty soon!  Look out California...the Farley's are headed your way...we're coming to get an ear! 

We saw one like this on our last trip out there....I believe it was in Phoenix...very snazzy looking!

It's 32 days until we leave for California.  I really can't believe it's that close.

On one hand I'm ready.  On one hand I'm not.

Travel plans are underway.  We have all of our "lodging" taken care of, rental car reserved, I just need airfare to go DOWN!!!

We are so thankful that it's all coming together...just as God has planned!  He is in control.  If I've learned anything along this journey is that God's plan and timing is always perfect...and that He remains in control and that Lucy is in the palm of His hand.  Of that.  I'm sure.

We have one more fundraiser on the books....Ride for Lucy: It takes 2.  It's gonna be a blast!  Last fall we had the first Ride for Lucy and it was simply amazing!  We had an amazing turnout!  We raised over $3,000.  We pray to surpass that amount this ride!  If you are local, mark your calendars for May 11th!  Details coming soon!!!

Please continue to keep Lucy in your prayers!  We truly appreciate all those following along on Lucy's journey!  She is one very loved little girl!

Praising God for His faithfulness and His promises!

Keegan went back to school yesterday and was even perkier today!  God is good!  She is back in full swing!

We continue to mark the days until Lucy's next surgery!  Let the countdown begin!  We have a couple more fundraisers to get in before May 23rd.....we still are quite a ways from what we need for surgery...but trust me when I say...God will provide!  He always does!!!  Thank you Father for your provisions!!!

Last but certainly not least...we are heartbroken for Boston.  I was up half the night and I feel certain it was due to all the events in Boston.  The more stories that you hear....the kids, families, etc....just simply heartbroken.

We will continue to pray for all the victims and their families and for the people that caused all this lost.  They certainly need our prayers.

So thankful

That today Keegan is doing great....a little tired but good!  She's been lying around most of the day. 

Thank you to everyone for all your prayers for Keegan...and her momma!

Sweetface *and more updates

Surgery is underway!  They started about an hour ago! 

*Just received another call....catheters are in place, Keegan is doing well, and they are continuing on...

**They are trying different medicines...trying to get Keegan's heart to go into SVT so they can locate the extra electrical pathway.....continuing to try meds....

***They found a medicine that made her heart go into the abnormal rhythm...they located the extra pathway and they are freezing it.  (which means if they are freezing...then the pathway is in a more delicate location....)  But she is still doing well.  Oh, and the extra pathway is on the right side of the heart!  (better than being on the left)

****They are "testing and waiting, testing and waiting" and from what I understand this can take quite a while.  They obviously want to make sure they take care of business (or as much as they can safely) while they are in there!  But sounds like everything is progressing nicely!  Praise God! 

*****About 15 minutes after that last update, they came and got us and said we could talk with her surgeon and then see Keegan!  Needless to say, we didn't know it would happen that fast...so we were throwing it all together to get back to her as fast as humanly possible!!

The surgeon said it all went great!  She was very pleased and very happy with the results!  Due to the location of the extra pathway she was not able to "burn" the area since it was so close to the heart's normal conduction system....so she froze the site.  Overall the surgeon said she was very pleased with the way it all went! 

Can I tell you that every single person that helped us today was wonderful!  And everyone LOVED Keegan!  She has a fan club now at Central Baptist Hospital!!!

Keegan had to stay in recovery for 4 hours....she slept forever....but eventually woke up and ate and ate and ate!!! 

We are now home and she is resting on the sofa!!!  Praise God for being with my girl all day!!  So happy it's over!!  She will lay low for a few days and be back to school on Monday!!!  (Good Lord willing!!!)

My sweet Keegan is having a heart procedure tomorrow....so if y'all would be as so kind...please say a prayer for my girl and her surgeon!

I'll keep you updated as the day progresses! 

We are to be at the hospital at 6am....ablation to start around 8am.
